Project Sidekick : ウィキペディア英語版 | Project Sidekick Project Sidekick is the name of a collaboration between Microsoft and NASA to use augmented reality devices such as Microsoft HoloLens to aid in exploration. Currently the project plans to use Microsoft HoloLens to aid astronauts on the International Space Station, but it will also be used on the Aquarius laboratory and in future Mars exploration. ==Functionality== Project Sidekick currently has two modes of operation, Remote Expert Mode and Procedure Mode. Remote Expert Mode allows the user to communicate their first-person perspective and receive instruction over Skype. Procedure Mode will overlay instructions on top of objects allowing the user to learn procedures more quickly. These instructions can be animated and will be holographic with applications including assisting repairs, scientific experiments, and construction. These devices have been promoted as a way to reduce training time for astronauts and improve situations where there are communication delays.
